POLICY OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

ON ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES AT THE PRESENT STAGE

The article examines the principles of the International Criminal Court (ICC) policy in the field of combating environmental damage, as reflected in the draft Policy on Environmental Crimes in accordance with the Rome Statute of the ICC – a program document of the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC. The author notes the ICC Office of the Prosecutor's rejection of the idea of international criminalization of environmental crimes and its focus on the environmental aspects of crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC that are committed using the environment or result in damage to the environment.
