PREVENTING AND COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN UKRAINE: NEW CHALLENGES OF THE STATE OF WAR

AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION COMMITMENTS

The article focuses on topical issues of preventing and combating human trafficking in Ukraine, which are determined by the state's international obligations and aggravated by the state of war, which has led to a significant number of refugees abroad and 6 million internally displaced persons. All these factors necessitate a review of existing mechanisms for combating human trafficking, taking into account the standards of the UN, the Council of Europe, and the directives of the European Union. It is advisable to increase the criminal liability of persons guilty of committing this type of crime, to introduce criminal law measures against legal entities involved in human trafficking, to amend the legislation to exclude such persons from participating in tenders, to criminalize surrogacy, etc.

Key words: prevention and combating of human trafficking, exploitation, confiscation, criminal law measures against legal entities.
