The jubilee issue of the journal  «Slovo of the National School of Judges of Ukraine»  has been released 

The jubilee issue of the professional nationwide scientific-practical and scientific-methodical legal journal  «Slovo of the National School of Judges of Ukraine» № 1 (50) 2025 has been published.

The jubilee issue opens with a welcome speech to the readership by Mykola ONISHCHUK, the editor- in-chief of the journal, rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, doctor of legal sciences, honored lawyer of Ukraine. He emphasized that since its inception, the journal «Slovo of the National School of Judges of Ukraine» «has been a powerful means: to promote the authority of the judiciary, to affirm its independence, to inform the public about current legislative changes and the practice of their implementation and to summarize best examples of judicial experience. It is precisely due to its genuine commitment to these principles that the journal has become a reliable information guide for judicial and legal reform, an important scientific and communication platform for professional discussion of ideas and practices. During its existence, the journal has twice confirmed its status as a scientific professional publication. »

The leading article of the issue is authored by Mykhailo SAVCHYN «Institutional guarantees of judicial independence and integrity». In this article the author emphasizes that the judiciary possesses internal resources to ensure its own independence, playing a leading role in upholding the separation of powers and protecting human rights. The article explores the institutional guarantees of judicial independence and integrity of judges, the role of courts in ensuring the foundations of a constitutional state, in particular under martial law and the prospects for the development of the institution of military justice. The main aspects of the institutional capacity of the judiciary are identified through an analysis of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and potential threats to the effectiveness of justice (SWOT analysis).

The National School of Judges of Ukraine invites you to publish an article in the professional national professional scientific and practical legal magazine “Slovo of the National School of Judges of Ukraine” (according to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1081 dated September 29, 2014, the journal is included in the List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine, in which the results of the dissertation works for obtaining the scientific degrees of doctor and candidate of sciences can be published).

The publication of the articles is free of charge. Also free of charge the authorial copy of edition is sent to an author.

The target audience of magazine are candidates on justiceship, judge, workers of organs of the system of justice, office of public prosecutor, advocacies, practicing lawyers, teachers and students of faculties of law of higher educational establishments and others like that.

The articles on an actual theme, containing the results of  deep scientific research of modern problems of development of legal science, legislation and practice are accepted by the Editorial Board and considered for review before publication in magazine.

The article is checked by the editorial board of the publication for the author's compliance with the formal requirements for the design of the scientific article, and then submitted to the Editorial Board of the journal for consideration of its publication.

Dnepropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in conjunction with the All-Ukrainian public organization “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers” conducted the All-Ukrainian competition for the best legal edition. The purpose of the competition is to identify and celebrate the best editions that comprehensively and qualitatively provide the needs of the educational process in institutions of higher education legal profile.

On March 15, 2018, in the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, during the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues of Combating Crime in Modern Conditions: Domestic and Foreign Experience", the award ceremony of the participants of the All-Ukrainian competition for the best legal edition took place.

According to the results of the competition, a professional nationwide scientific-practical and scientific-methodical legal publication “Word of the National School of Judges of Ukraine” was awarded a diploma of the third degree in the nomination “Periodicals”.
