Requirements for the formatting of research articles and their submission procedure

Previously unpublished scientific articles of scientific and practical value, containing an in-depth independent analysis of current problems of development of legal science, legislation and practice are accepted for publication.

The length of an article prepared by one author is from 12 to 15 pages, co-authored (the maximum number of co-authors is two) - from 15 to 20 pages (Times New Roman; size 14; interval 1.5; margins on the right, bottom and top - 15 mm, on the left - 30 mm). The volume of a scientific article includes: text of the article, annotations, list of used sources and a reference).

Scientific articles should contain all required elements in this order:

1. The UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) index.

2. Information about the author or two co-authors (last name, first name, position and name of the institution, academic degree, academic title, honorary title of Ukraine, contact phone number and email address) is provided in Ukrainian and English. The author provides a unique ORCID identifier (if the author does not have this identifier, it can be obtained at https://orcid.org/).

3. Title of the article (in capital letters).

4. The text of the article should include: a statement of the problem and/or research methodology, and its relevance to science or practice; an analysis of recent studies that have begun to address the problem;  identification of previously unresolved aspects of the problem; a statement of the article’s objectives;  a presentation of the main material with a justification of the results obtained; well-founded conclusions that correspond to the research objectives and prospects for further scientific inquiry.

Illustrations to articles (graphics, figures and diagrams) are submitted in TIFF or PDF format (each figure in a separate file). 

5. The sources in the text of the article are numbered in the order of their mention in square brackets with the page number [1, p. 5]; references to several sources are separated by semicolons [2; 3; 4]. When referring to the same source more than once, the number of its original citation is retained.

The list of used sources in Ukrainian is given in the order of mention in the text (up to 20 references in an article by one author, up to 35 references for two co-authors). Each source has its own separate number (it should not be repeated in the list of used sources). The description of sources is carried out in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015). Scientific articles listed in the references must include an active link to their DOI (Digital Object Identifier). For electronic sources, indicate the date of access to the references.  The author provides a list of references in English as well. The use of transliteration is unacceptable.

6. Annotations to the article are submitted in two languages (Ukrainian and English), each of which is accompanied by keywords (up to 10 in an article by one author, up to 20 in an article by two authors), the author's first name and last name as well as the topic of the article in the appropriate language. The approximate length of an annotation in Ukrainian is 250-500 printed characters with spaces, in English - 1800-2000 printed characters with spaces.

7. Notify the journal’s editorial board of any conflicts of interest with members of the journal’s editorial board.

To publish an article, the following materials should be sent to the email address of the executive secretary of the editorial board:

-  electronic copy of the article in *doc format

-  file with a photo of the author (co-authors) in *jpg or *tif format (not less than 600 dpi);

-  an extract from the minutes of the department meeting on recommending the article for publication for postgraduate students, associate students, doctoral students and persons defending their dissertation research, as well as a review by the scientific leader. The documents must be certified in accordance with the established procedure. Scanned copies of the documents should be sent to the editorial office's email address, originals - to the editorial office's postal address.

The authors can find an example of a scientific article on the website of the journal “Slovo of the National School of Judges of Ukraine” in the section “Latest issue”. 

An article that does not meet the above requirements,

will NOT be accepted for publication. 

The articles may express the views of their authors that do not coincide with the views of the members of the Editorial Board. The author is personally responsible for compliance with the current legislation (in particular, regarding the protection of intellectual property rights), accuracy of the information provided (including names and titles of individuals and legal entities mentioned in the article), citations and references to literary sources and norms of legislative acts, translations of annotations and keywords to the article.
